February 09, 2019, marked the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the 747 prototype, still considered the queen of the airlines by most of the world's flying community. The painting shows the prototype and the Boeing-owned Canadair CL-13 MK5 Sabre chase plane pulling contrails around a cloud-bound Mt. Rainier on an early test flight. The 747 carries the logos of the first 26 airlines to commit to purchasing this giant-sized new technology. Both aircraft have been restored for static display at Seattle's Museum of Flight.
