Stylized Portraits in Watercolor, with Molly Murrah
Join me for a NEW 6-Week Course: Stylized Portraits in Watercolor
In previous courses we had such fun master-copying other artists’ portraits, I would like to do that again … but with a twist!
I have always felt that artists –– especially beginners –– can learn a lot by copying other artists’ works, but to paint from photographs emulating other artists’ styles will put a whole new spin on things, and we’ll have a lot of fun in the process!
We meet for six Friday sessions at Tsuga, 10:30am–1pm, March 22–April 26.
Weeks 1–3: We practice other artists’ styles by copying actual paintings (color images provided)
Weeks 4–6: We use black & white photos of our subjects, but paint in one or more of the styles already practiced (reference photos provided)
Are you game? Let me know right away. I have 13 spots to fill on a first come, first served basis. If you are willing to take a Tuesday class instead, please let me know. Friday classes fill quickly, but I can open a duplicate class on the previous Tuesdays if enough people are interested.
One last thing… for the first time since I started teaching six years ago, I need to raise the cost of my classes $5 per session, making the total $210 for the 6-week course instead of $180. However, there will be no additional materials fee for any reference images I provide (and they do add up!). As always, cash is welcome.
Thank you, and I hope to see you in March!
