Mixed media has always held an attraction for me with endless combinations of materials, media, textures, colors and images. My imagination provides the subject (mood, feeling or idea) for each collage, then I select the materials I feel will best express that subject. I start with acrylic on a support board of either watercolor paper or wrap canvas; may also include textures; then I apply papers, usually handpainted, to the support board using various glues and acrylic mediums for different effects and texturing materials; follow up with wires, sticks and other found objects for accents &/or focal point. My goal is to make each piece interesting and cause the viewer to move closer to see all the elements it combines.
