Juried exhibitions are a long-running and well-established tradition in the art world. These types of shows give audiences a chance to see what a myriad of artists can come up with when confronted with the same criteria, theme, or parameters. Americana, opening on Friday, June 24, 2016, will be one such show. Local artists have been selected by TSUGA Fine Art & Framing to submit works of art embodying the spirit of Independence and Americana. This group exhibition is hosted by TSUGA Fine Art & Framing and will be adjudicated by the very accomplished local watercolorist and resident TSUGA artist, Kathy Collins.
Janelle Loewen received “Best in Show” at the 2016 NW Pastel Society's Annual International Show for her stunning pastel, Garden Light. The exhibition took place in Tacoma, WA at The American Art Company, the Pacific Northwest’s oldest art gallery, and was adjudicated by Richard McKinley.
Molly Murrah will have a painting published in the June 2017 issue of SPLASH 18, an art magazine known for presenting the best in contemporary watercolor.
Kathy Collins gained acceptance into an American Watercolor Society exhibition in New York City. She is now also eligible for Signature status within that organization.
